Cookery demonstration

cookery demo

On Wednesday 19/12/01 Michael MacNamara kindly agreed to demonstrate his cookery skills to the Ladies Club. Eleven different courses were created for our delectation- we were able to taste them all- delicious! The dish below shows Michaels roast duck with red cabbage.
A great way to spend a cold winters evening.

A generous gift to the Currane Community

more

Tom Farrar, whose grandmother Sarah Gallagher left Currane for the USA in 1912, has recently visited the area. Tom travelled from his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and brought with him a precious collection of Irish coins, the earliest dating back to 1035AD. Tom has generously donated his collection to the Currane community.

Ladies Club Bowling Trip

Currane/Belfarsad Ladies Club had a night out bowling in Castlebar, followed by a trip to the cinema to see Bridget Jones' Diary. It was a fun evening. Special thanks to Sean Graven for taking us there and back and for not taking the mickey out of our poor bowling techniques.
